In 1925, the ‘Exposition Internationale d’Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes’ was held in Paris, from which the artistic movement still known today as Art Déco gets its name, in which Demetre H. Chiparus was very present.
A sculptor of Romanian origin who has been living in Paris since 1912, the bronze represents modern, emancipated women, dressing in the latest fashion with wide, comfortable and elegant clothing, but her main source of inspiration will be found in the Dance: Paris lives in the 20s to the dance rhythm.”
