Information on Bronze
Bronze is an alloy of different kinds of metal with at least 60% of copper.
Most commonly used in the alloy are copper and pewter.
Sometimes one uses zinc as a 3rd. metal but always in small percentages due to its softness and low rigidity.
Bronze is much harder and more meltable than 100% copper and therefor frequently used for artworks, statues and ornaments.
Information on Jugendstil
Art Nouveau began in London and is also known as “Jugendstil” in german speaking countries, Modernismo in Spain and as Stile Liberty in Italy.
The term Art Nouveau refers to a ‘renewal’ movement which began in Western Europe around 1880.
With this style, artists rebelled against the ‘oldish’ way of classic art.
It is a style in architecture, sculpture, painting and mostly ornamental, decorative, asymmetrical, exotic with symbols of sexuality, death and resurrection.
