More information on Kwan Yin

Guanyin (Quan-yin, Kuan-yin, Kwan Yin) is the bodhisattva associated with compassion as venerated by East Asian Buddhists, usually as a female.

The name Guanyin means “Observing the Sounds (or Cries) of the World”.

Commonly known in English as the Mercy Goddess or Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin is also revered by Chinese Taoists as an Immortal.

Guanyin is immensely popular among Chinese Buddhists, especially those from devotional schools.

She is generally seen as a source of unconditional love and more importantly as a savior.

In her bodhisattva vows, Guanyin promises to answer the cries and pleas of all beings and to liberate all beings from their own karmic woes.
